Accidents are the leading cause of child mortality in Europe. Most of these tragedies occur at the child’s home and could be easily avoided. Road accidents are another important cause of death at all ages. Properly installing car seats can make the difference between life and death but most car seats are not used correctly.
Studio Mostert believes that it is important to explain to parents how important it is to be ready for the unexpected in the following ways:
- giving detailed explanations during programmed Well Child visits with information relative to safety measures at home and on the road specific to the child’s age.
- giving handouts on the issue of safety.
- giving a list of web links on the issue of safety.
